all, there is still a period of nearly 10

years to run, it can hardly be described as

a case for "break-neck" speed, and one would

think that a six months' delay would not be

of great moment.

I gathered also that the Governor

himself may be away on leave for some time

during the ensuing six months, and I imagine

it would be desirable for the investigation

to take place while he was on duty.

However, I leave myself in your hands

on this point.

(a). As explained to you I do not desire any fee for

the work and would be quite satisfied if my

expenses were paid.

(e).

The point would arise as to whether I would be

expected to draw up my report and hand it in

to the Governor before leaving Hong Kong, or

whether I could prepare it on my return

home.

I need hardly add that I am at your service for any further conversation at any time to be arranged.

Very cincerely yours Davio sommi
